I had back problems for 6 months and thought it was due to all my running. The problems continued even with less training, and an MRI gave no satisfactory answers (apart from wear and tear/minor bulges expected from my job) Back spasms were regular and left me bent double, on one particular occasion I took 35 minutes to walk 200 metres with strangers offering to help me, Christmas Day was also ruined too! This problem totally affected my running confidence and fitness.
Claire introduced me to a different way of treating backs and I am a convert! She made me look at aspects of my life that could be affecting my back – stress in particular. Outwardly I cope well with stress, but Claire made me understand that actually every time my back had gone out was related to situations in my home life (ill family members). When I looked at when it had gone out it was incredible how it related directly to stressful moment in time. I now try and deal with stress differently with Claire’s help and therefore my back is better, and I have just completed my 13th marathon with not one single major spasm.
“Life”, I realise now has a massive impact on the body physically and I am HUGELY appreciative to Claire for helping me – I WOULD URGE ANYONE WITH CONTINUING INJURIES, WHEREVER THEY ARE IN THE BODY to see what Claire has to say.
